Rex Banks, Au.D., Reg. CASLPO,  Doctor of Audiology

Rex Banks has been an audiologist since 1989 and is the Director of Audiology at CHS. Rex completed his Au.D (Doctor of Audiology) degree from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences; M.A. in Audiology from the University of Tennessee, and a B.A. in Communication Disorders from the University of Mississippi. Rex’s audiology experience spans private practice, ENT physician offices, hospitals, the non-profit sector as well as holding adjunct faculty positions at Western Kentucky University and Nova Southeastern University. In addition to being registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO), Rex earned the Certificate of Clinical Competency in Audiology (CCC-A) designation and is also certified in Tinnitus Retraining Therapy (TRT).

  • President, Board of Directors, Acoustic Neuroma Association of Canada
  • President, Board of Directors, Ontario Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists
  • Health Professionals Regulatory Advisory Council (HPRAC) for the Toronto Central Local Health Integrated Network (LHIN)
  • Canadian Clinical Director, Ontario Special Olympics Healthy Hearing/Healthy Athletes Program
  • Member of the Toronto GO Transit Accessibility Council
  • Broward County Florida Advisory Council for Persons with Disabilities
  • Director, Broward County United Way “Success By 6” hearing screening project

Rex has made numerous community presentations and is often consulted by the media on a wide range of issues pertaining to hearing loss. Proficiency, enthusiasm and compassion have always been Rex’s guiding principles in serving both his clients and his profession.
